Leeds rubbish grows with student exodus at end of term

Extra bin and rubbish collections are taking place in parts of Leeds as thousands of students prepare to leave the city at the end of term.

Students are also knocking on doors to encourage people to donate unwanted items to good causes to reduce waste.

In 2012, the council collected an extra 367 tonnes of waste in three weeks as students packed up their digs.
