Bradford supermarket 'slip' claim fraudster sentenced
A man who tried to get compensation after claiming he injured himself slipping on the floor of a Bradford supermarket has received a suspended 10-month jail sentence for fraud.
Waheed Iqbal, 36, of Hollings Road in Bradford sought £10,000 from the supermarket's insurer, claiming he had banged his head and body on the floor, hurting the left side of his back, leg and ankle.
He was found guilty of two counts of fraud by false representation at an earlier hearing at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court, following an investigation by the City of London Police's Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department.
