Grassroots sports clubs call for funding

Three quarters of respondents to a survey by the Sport and Recreation Alliance believed the government was not helping enough to fund grassroots sport clubs.

Volleyball coach David Rijvers said: "Funding within schools has been cut, facilities are very very poor to support community clubs and the cost of facilities within London is very very expensive."

The government says it will invest £1bn in the next five years to link schools with sport clubs.

Tim Lamb of the Sport and Recreation Alliance features in this report by BBC London's Sports News Correspondent, Adrian Warner.
