HS2 tunnel victory for Ealing residents

Scores of homes, businesses and roads which were to be bulldozed to make way for the HS2 rail link in west London are to be saved.

It is being billed as a major victory for campaigners who opposed the disruption the new high speed railway linking the capital to Birmingham and Manchester, would have caused.

Instead the route will now go through a tunnel under Ealing.

BBC London's transport correspondent Tom Edwards talks to William Lewis of the 3rd Perivale Scouts, resident Claudine King-Dabbs, Valerie Rudd, Alex Nieora of North Ealing Against HS2 and Councillor Bassam Mahfouz of Ealing Council.
