'Red flag' warning on the tidal Thames

A "red flag" warning has been issued on the tidal Thames urging rowers and boaters to stay away.

The Port of London Authority (PLA), which oversees safety on the tidal Thames, has issued formal safety warnings to all recreational boat users.

The PLA is concerned about inexperienced crews attempting to row during the fast river flows.

BBC London's Tarah Welsh spoke to Andy Mayo, from the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, Darren Knight, from the Port of London Authority, and Nick Lloyd, from the London Rowing Club.
