Homerton mental health unit criticised over 200 absconders

A mental health unit in east London has been criticised after it emerged that more than 200 patients, including a convicted killer, have absconded.

Figures revealed 211 patients, many suffering from personality disorders, went "absent without leave" from the medium secure unit in Homerton over a 13-year period.

Dr Kevin Cleary, medical director of the East London Foundation NHS Trust, and Marjorie Wallace, chief executive of mental health charity SANE, speak to BBC London;s Jean Mackenzie.
