Thames Barrier marks 30 years of protecting London

The Thames Barrier has marked 30 years of protecting London from flooding.

With 50 openings, this winter has been its busiest since it was officially opened in 1984.

Engineering manager Steve East talks about how the tide impacts the barrier while employee Bill Cook reflects on how the area has changed.
