Dagenham Ford plant creates 300 new jobs

More than 300 new jobs are to be created at Dagenham's Ford plant after the car giant announced a £475m investment which will see the factory build new, low-carbon car engines.

The company said the money includes £8.9m from the Government's' Regional Growth Fund.

But there are questions over whether London is benefiting enough from the government's attempt to stimulate local economic growth.

BBC London's political correspondent, Karl Mercer spoke to Mark Ovenden, the chairman and managing director of Ford of Britain, and Prime Minister David Cameron.
