Charity threatens to withdraw cystic fibrosis ward fund

A cystic fibrosis charity has threatened to withdraw funding for a new ward at King's College Hospital if plans do not progress soon.

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust raised more than £400,000 for a new ward almost five years ago.

The charity has given the hospital three months to confirm when work will start, or it will withdraw the funding.

The hospital said it will not meet the deadline, but has a whole programme of "vital improvement works" to deliver.

BBC London's Alice Salfield spoke to Jamie Fox, a cystic fibrosis patient and Ed Owen, chief executive of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
