Flames rip through Finchley bakery during arson attack

CCTV has been released of the moment a person doused the floor of a bakery in Finchley, north London, with a flammable liquid before setting it alight.

The person, wearing a patterned crash helmet, jacket, trousers, gloves and black and white trainers, entered Tavazo bakery in Ballards Lane on 14 March at about 05:00 GMT.

The individual then walked around the bakery, pouring liquid from a black fuel container.

Scotland Yard, who released the footage, said smoke alarms were in place in the building but had been covered up so they did not work.
