Army mum's plea to save Royal Regiment of Fusiliers battalion

Campaigners have gathered in silence at Manchester's war memorial to remember the fallen - and show support for those still serving.

The Second Battalion, the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers could be disbanded as a result of spending cuts.

Ann Annis, whose son Simon died in Afghanistan in 2009, said his death would be in vain if the battalion were to be disbanded.
