Ex-education secretary to raise Oldham school standards
A former education secretary has been drafted in to raise school standards in a Greater Manchester town after the council admitted they were not good enough.
Oldham has the lowest skills levels across the 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester.
Oldham Council has launched an education commission, headed up by ex-Labour Education Secretary Baroness Morris, to improve standards.
