St Mary's C of E Primary School in Moss Side wins award

A Manchester school has been named Primary School of the Year by the Times Educational Supplement.

St Mary's C of E Primary School in Moss Side was put into special measures 10 years ago, but since then it has gone from strength to strength.

The school has 430 pupils speaking a total of 23 languages.

The judges said it was "an amazing school with an amazing record of achievement in incredibly difficult circumstances".
