Boy, 13, robbed by bike thieves in Manchester

Footage showing youths stealing a bike from a 13-year-old boy has resulted in the launch of an online fundraising campaign.

More than £1,000 has been raised after the north Manchester robbery was captured on CCTV.

The victim had cycled to the shops on Bury New Road in Higher Cheetham when he was attacked on Monday afternoon.

Three boys believed to be around 16 - two of whom can be seen on CCTV - approached him and told him to get off his bike before one of them then made off on it.

The victim's mother said it was the first time her son had been out on the bike - a gift for his Bar Mitzvah.

"It's very, very difficult to watch that video, it makes me upset, it makes me angry," she said.
