Everton fans in Lille: 'Rioters' threw missiles, footage shows

Everton fans who clashed with police in Lille goaded officers and threw missiles, French TV footage shows.

A spokesman said trouble began after police arrested a fan on suspicion of selling drugs in Lille's Grand Place on Thursday afternoon.

French police confirmed rubber bullets and a stun grenade were used "to drive back the rioters".

Supporters claimed the police were "hard-handed" and used tear gas.
