CCTV shows speeding car strike woman in St Helens

A woman was left scarred for life by a speeding car that span out of control and hit her, catapulting her into a gate post.

Beverley Finney was struck by Henry Rigby in May 2016 as he lost control of his car at 40 mph in a 30 mph zone in St Helens, Merseyside.

Ms Finney, who agreed to CCTV footage of the moment she was hit being released, suffered facial scarring and skull fractures and said the incident left her suffering from panic attacks.

Rigby was later found guilty of causing serious injury by dangerous driving at Liverpool Crown Court and handed a 15-month suspended jail term and a three-year driving ban.
