Charities in plea to save healthy dogs from unnecessary deaths
Animal charities have urged vets not to put down healthy pets when their owners die.
Growing numbers of elderly people are requesting that their animals be buried with them for fear they will not be looked after, but animal welfare groups say it is wrong.
At least a dozen people have approached one Norfolk undertaker to ask about having their pets destroyed and buried with them.
