Doctor Who: The sound of the Tardis

As science fiction series Doctor Who celebrates 50 years, former BBC Radiophonics Workshop engineer Brian Hodgson recalls unlocking the sound of the Tardis from an old piano and his mother's front door key.

Mr Hodgson, who now lives in Norfolk, worked as the original sound effects creator on the programme and also designed the dictatorial modulated tones of the Daleks.
