Cromer Boxing Day dip: North Norfolk Runners in charity sea splash

Hundreds of people braved chilly conditions on Boxing Day and plunged into the North Sea off the Norfolk coast to raise money for charity.

The annual event in Cromer, organised by the North Norfolk Beach Runners (NNBR), has taken place in the seaside town since 1985 when it was originally organised as "a bit of a dare".

Clive Hedges, one of the dippers, said spectators had once again "been very generous" with their donations.

Organisers expect the Christmas tradition to raise about £2,000 for the Community Heartbeat Trust.
