Man will 'chain himself' in shop over tram eviction

A man has said he will chain himself inside his shop unless Nottingham City Council reveals how much he will get in compensation for its compulsory purchase.

Terry Taylor's shop, Programme World, is due to be demolished to make way for a new tram line.

He said: "If I haven't had a settlement figure by Wednesday I'm not going anywhere. I'll lock myself in the shop and they can do what they want."

Nottingham City Council said Mr Taylor had been given more help than legally required, including an interim payment and a rent free business unit for three months.
