East Midlands HS2 route faces some opposition

The proposed High Speed Rail link through the East Midlands will run through the property of an historic house in the region.

Hardwick Hall, owned by the National Trust, is opposed to the route, but will hold talks over the proposals.

The route also calls for several large aqueducts across flood plains in Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire.
