Trading standards officers 'worried' by rise in rogue car dealer tactics
Trading Standards officers in Nottinghamshire say they are worried about the increasing numbers of used car dealers misleading customers.
Sarah Houlton from the local authority said they were seeing a "worrying trend" of second-hand cars being sold without the necessary checks.
It comes after rogue salesman Kevin Hempsall, from Sutton-in-Ashfield was convicted and fined £10,000 at Mansfield Magistrates' Court for selling unroadworthy cars and using aggressive practices involving eight people.
Sarah Sturdey from BBC Inside Out East Midlands speaks to some of Hempsall's victims.
The full report will be broadcast on Monday, 13 January at 19:30 GMT on BBC One East Midlands and nationwide on the iPlayer for seven days thereafter.
