Joseph Whitaker School film rocket-powered car record
A rocket-powered model car built by schoolchildren has beaten a world speed record by about 250mph (400km/h), it is claimed.
Pupils at The Joseph Whitaker School in Rainworth, Nottinghamshire, say they broke the record at Rolls-Royce in Hucknall, on Saturday.
They recorded an average speed of 533.1mph (857.9km/h) and are now waiting for verification by Guinness.
