Vote 2012: Labour increase Oxford majority

Labour has increased its majority on Oxford City Council, securing three extra seats in the local elections.

The Green Party also held five seats on the council.

The Lib Dems lost three seats and the Tories failed to win a single seat in the city where they have not had a councillor since 2002.

Council Leader Bob Price said the result was an endorsement of the parties that were in opposition nationally.
