River Thames boat island plans approved despite protest

Plans to house a boat hire business on an island in the River Thames in Oxfordshire have been approved despite objections.

Brandy Island, a disused water treatment plant at Buscot Mill between Faringdon and Lechlade, has been derelict for 20 years.

Cotswold Boat Hire's proposal to develop the island will see 17 new moorings built.
