Election 2015: Writs sent to all 650 constituencies

Election writs have been issued to all 650 constituencies ahead of the general election next month.

The official instructions, which order the holding of an election, were drawn up in Westminster after Parliament was dissolved on Monday.

Banbury's writ was hand-delivered on Tuesday.

Sue Smith, acting returning officer for Banbury, said the process was "special" and made the UK "unique".

Postman Vic Amor admitted he had had a sleepless night.
