Protest against Tom's Field housing development

People living in a village near Wantage have gathered to protest about plans to build 81 homes on the last remaining green space in their community.

Fuller's Field, known locally as Tom's Field, in Charlton is used by joggers and dog walkers, and is home to bats, owls and deer.

Campaigners say it provides a much-needed buffer from a major new housing development that's being built nearby.

But developers say planning inspectors have found nothing wrong with the application, and point out the land is privately owned.
