Chicken-keeping boy launches free-range egg crusade

A nine-year-old from Oxford has written to McVitie's, asking the company to stop using caged hens' eggs in its biscuits.

Benjamin keeps his own chickens and is "disappointed" the company does not always use free range eggs.

Parent company Pladis said it took hen welfare seriously and regularly reviewed the sourcing of its eggs.
