Alveley hotel damaged in blaze

A fire has torn through a former hotel in Shropshire, causing the roof to collapse.

It started at The Mill Hotel in Alveley, near Bridgnorth, at about 05:00 BST.

More than 80 firefighters from Shropshire and across the West Midlands tackled the blaze and an investigation has begun to try and establish what caused it.

The building, once a flour mill, dated back to the 16th Century, but closed in September.
