World War Two torpedo boat 219 restoration under way

A Somerset engineer has spent a year working to restore a rare World War Two torpedo boat.

Paul Childs said the boat - moored at Bridgwater Docks - was the only known example of its kind, credited with sinking two German destroyers.

The torpedo boat fleet protected home waters, earning it the nickname "iron men in wooden boats".

Clinton Rogers reports.
