Coastal areas to get 'biggest high tides' for two decades

The West of England is to experience its biggest high tides in nearly two decades at the weekend.

The annual spring tides will reach the peak of an 18-and-a-half-year cycle between 18 and 23 February which, if coupled with stormy weather, could cause coastal flooding.

The Environment Agency has carried out pre-tide checks and said it is ready to deal with any disruption to sea defences.
