Denis MacShane released from jail after expenses fraud
Former Labour MP Denis MacShane has been released from jail after serving six weeks of a six-month sentence for expenses fraud.
MacShane was jailed in December after he admitted submitting 19 fake receipts totalling £12,900.
On his release, the 65-year-old compared himself to the Coronation Street star William Roache, who cleared of sex offences on Thursday.
He said the former director of public prosecutions, Keir Starmer, had been "very keen" on celebrity prosecutions.
