Historic House restoration award for Norton Conyers
A late medieval manor house in North Yorkshire has won a top award for its restoration.
Norton Conyers near Ripon has been undergoing restoration for the past eight years, since death watch beetle was discovered in its woodwork.
Except for 20 years between 1862 and 1882, the owners say it has been lived in by the Graham family for eleven generations - since 1624.
The house has been given the Historic Houses Association 2014 restoration award and will open to the public in July next year.
