Stoke nail damage drivers 'paying hundreds' for repairs

Some drivers are having to pay for new tyres after a lorry spilled its load of nails across a carriageway in Stoke-on-Trent.

The A500 northbound at Etruria is expected to be closed for several hours while the nails are cleared and assistance given to vehicles that have suffered punctured tyres.

Car mechanic Mark Dobson, who has been carrying out repairs in the area, said it was "unbelievable" how many nails were in some of the tyres.
