National Memorial Arboretum bikers receive salute from 'Blu'

Retired soldier David ‘Blu’ Andrew spent five hours saluting tributes from the thousands of motorcyclists who rode to the National Memorial Arboretum on Saturday to remember the fallen.

The Ride to the Wall event has raised more than £600,000 for the UK’s centre of remembrance in Staffordshire over the past 10 years.

For the last four years, David ‘Blu’ Andrew, from Brierley Hill, has saluted each of the motorcyclists undertaking the annual pilgrimage to Alrewas.

Blu, who served with the second battalion Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, said it was his way of thanking the bikers for honouring his friend killed in action, and that he would not miss the experience.
