Car crashes into two horses and riders in Witcham
A motorist veered on to the wrong side of the road and crashed into two horses and their riders.
The riders were thrown from the animals in the collision in Witcham, near Ely, Cambridgeshire.
One rider - a woman in her 50s - was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital as a precaution, but was released after being seen by a doctor.
A Cambridgeshire Police spokesman said: "Both the riders and horses were not seriously injured. We are investigating the incident and are making inquiries."
The force said it would not comment on claims made on social media and reported in a newspaper that the driver had suffered a stroke because "the cause of the accident is still being investigated".
East of England Ambulance Service has confirmed it did not treat the driver for a suspected stroke or any other medical concern.
The accident happened near the Witcham Equestrian Centre.
Spokeswoman Jane Hart said one of the horses had to have stitches, adding: "We are very hopeful of a full recovery.
"We feel thankful the riders and horses are all right."
