Bones found off A23 in Sussex thought to be human remains

A major police investigation is under way in Sussex after bones, believed to be human remains, were found on a site just off the A23.

Contractors alerted police after finding the bones at the side of the road near Handcross.

The bones were discovered on the southbound carriageway about 100 metres south of the Slaughan junction.

Police said they may have been carried there by animals.
