St Leonards fire-hit elderly still without homes

Elderly residents in East Sussex who have already spent over a year in temporary accommodation after a fire destroyed their homes say they are devastated at having to wait another 12 months at least to move back in.

Marlborough House flats in St Leonards had to be evacuated after the fire in July 2013.

Resident Coral Pritchett told South East Today's Juliette Parkin they were angry because they could not see why repairs were taking so long.

The Hyde Group housing association said it was committed to making sure the flats were refurbished to the highest standard.
