Patients facing longer wait in Brighton A&E

Accident and Emergency waiting times in all the South East's NHS hospitals have failed to meet Government targets, with Brighton ranked 8th worst in England.

Hospitals in Sussex have been under intense pressure in recent weeks and despite putting in a number of measures to deal with this, NHS bosses say they are struggling with the number of patients who need to be treated.

Sheree Fagge, the Chief Nurse at Brighton and Sussex University Hospital Trust, said Brighton's A&E department was intensely busy.

BBC South East's John Young also spoke to Dr Christa Beesely, from Brighton and Hove Clinical Commissioning Group and Stephen Lloyd, Lib Dem MP for Eastbourne.
