Crawley school put into lockdown after travellers camp on playing field
Up to 30 caravans were parked on playing fields at Hazelwick School in Crawley, West Sussex, after a padlock securing the grounds was cut open.
The school was put into "lockdown" and pupils kept in their classrooms during breaks on Friday.
The travellers started to leave the site at about 19:30 BST, saying they did not realise they were on school grounds.
