Fatal 124mph Gateshead race crash CCTV

A man has been jailed for taking part in a 124mph (199kmh) race along the A1 led to a fatal crash.

Mohammed Abdul-Wahid was racing against Ryan Charlton in Gateshead. Mr Charlton, 23, of Gateshead, died after his car overturned.

At Teesside Crown Court, Abdul-Wahid, 32, from Middlesbrough, was sentenced to five-and-a-half years in prison after being found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving.

Northumbria Police released the CCTV to raise awareness of dangerous driving.
