Council probes gritter 'blunder'
Northumberland County Council has begun an investigation after it emerged five replacement winter road gritters would not be delivered until the New Year.
The authority ordered the vehicles, costing about £60,000 each, in the summer.
But the council's highways spokesman, Alan Thompson, told Look North's Mark Denten that the investigation would look at whether the order should have been placed earlier.
