Thousands gather for mass dog walk in South Shields
An estimated 23,000 dogs took part in what has been billed as the world's largest dog walk in South Shields.
In its 23rd year, the event was devised by former school teacher Tony Carlisle to raise cash for animal charities.
But this year, the event was also raising cash for the Help For Heroes charity in memory of killed soldier Lee Rigby.
Hannah Bayman met some of those taking park.
