Swindon-based food bank sees increase in users
A Swindon-based food bank says it is seeing a big increase in the number of people needing its help.
It comes following a survey by parenting website Netmums and charity Kids Company, which said on average two children in every classroom in the country live in families struggling to buy food.
The Swindon Foodbank is now planning a third distribution centre - in the Penhill area of the town - which is due to open in the summer.
Co-ordinator Lee Richardson said compared to this time last year the number of people using the food banks in the town was up by 25%.
