Surveying the damage in east Belfast

The BBC's Mark Simpson assesses the damage in east Belfast after shots were fired by nationalist and loyalist crowds during disturbances.

Violence erupted at a sectarian interface on the lower Newtownards Road and Mountpottinger Road at about 2100 BST on Monday.

Chief Superintendent Alan McCrum said the trouble had been "orchestrated" by loyalist paramilitary group the UVF.

Two men are being treated in hospital for bullet wounds.

In all 11 shots were fired - six from the nationalist side and five from loyalists.
