Belfast: UVF involved in flag protests, says police chief
The Chief Constable of Northern Ireland has accused members of the loyalist paramilitary group, the Ulster Volunteer Force, of being involved in the recent violent demonstrations in Belfast.
Matt Baggott said 52 of his officers had been injured in the protests which erupted after Belfast City Council voted to restrict the flying of the Union flag.
