Abandoned pup Becky wins top Crufts award

An abandoned dog which was found in a sack on a Northern Ireland riverbank has claimed a top award at an international canine event.

Becky was a six-week-old pup when she was saved by passers-by in Lisburn, seven years ago.

She was adopted by retired Bangor teacher Margaret McKnight and at the weekend was picked by former Eastenders actress Pam St Clement as the first champion mongrel at Crufts.

It is a new category which is known as Scrufts.

BBC Newsline's Mervyn Jess has been to meet Northern Ireland's latest champion.
