Richard Haass 'hopeful' on bringing progress to Northern Ireland

Richard Haass has said he is hopeful of making progress on three main issues that have proven difficult for the Northern Ireland parties to resolve.

These involve how to deal with sensitive parades, flags and dealing with Northern Ireland's past.

The US diplomat is due to begin chairing the talks on Tuesday and will be assisted by Harvard professor Meghan O'Sullivan.
