NI Assembly debates coal use restrictions

Scientists are carrying out an all-Ireland research study on the effect of smoky coal on air quality.

In many parts of Northern Ireland, smokeless coal is the only type which is legal to use.

MLAs have been debating whether there should be more restrictions on the use of coal in Northern Ireland, where the only legal type is smokeless coal.
