Unison questions ambulance "major incident" reaction
Patricia McKeown of the union, Unison, has questioned why a "major incident" was declared two hours before industrial action was to begin and not when ambulances have been queuing at hospitals or when there are not enough beds in hospital.
On Thursday night, the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service declared a "major incident", meaning Friday's industrial action by paramedics was called off.
The move came hours before action was to begin, with management saying they were forced to take the measure "to maintain a safe level of ambulance cover".
